Public energy needs local proof, not just rage

Political energy only becomes useful when it shows up in places, systems, and evidence that cannot be waved away as mood music.

The public-energy opening in British politics is real. The trap is assuming that reality is enough on its own.

Rage that never becomes local proof is just mood. Parties can ignore it, pundits can flatten it, and incumbents can write it off as one more gust of online weather.

If Future Union is going to stand for anything, it has to make public energy legible in the places where people actually live. That means listening work, issue mapping, ward-level proof, and a publishing habit that makes the local case visible before it tries to scale the national one.

The public operating system idea matters because it makes scattered energy usable. But visibility only turns into leverage when it is attached to places, names, problems, and a movement that can keep showing up.

That is why the local-first discipline matters. It is not a fallback because the national story is too hard. It is the only route that stops the whole thing becoming one more vibe-heavy launch with no institutional grip underneath it.
